The new owner doesn't have the best hi-fi speakers but as far as I can tell after listening to only one record it sounds very close to how it did before. We played Jerry Lee Lewis Golden Greats on Wednesday.

I'll be over again Sunday and might take some of my records to see how it sounds. My copy of Queen Greatest Hits was probably first played on that very machine back in 1980.

Stylus Lady is where I bought my 9TAHC. These are the real article, the top-end ceramic that's hard to tell from a magnetic cartridge.

OK so spent some more time round there yesterday. We played an original 1978 pressing of the Grease soundtrack and a brand new copy of Buddy Guy - Bring 'Em In.

Given that the new owner's speakers aren't the very best, I'd still say that the new cartridge is the equal of the original. I have no idea if it's NOS or something manufactured new. But it cost a reasonable 36 including moving the mount from the old to the new cart.

I have heard that 9TAHC cartridges are being made in China but this appears to have "UK" stamped on it.

Either way it was enjoyed by 8 people yesterday.

And that is all that matters - a good outcome.
