I stumbled upon this site whilst looking for information on a Meuguro MSG-2570 signal generator. I'm guessing the author is Japanese. He takes good quality photos showing how he obtained access to the equipment and describing the fault and the solution. I wish I was as disciplined!

Incidentally, the 'efu' reference given within no longer works in respect of the WaveGene software. However, it can be retrieved from this link (you'll need to accept your browser's 'translate?' prompt):
