The DMM idea is a good one.
Though I doubt we will find any with Imperial measurements.

Thinking on milling them out but the cutter required would be max 0.4mm dia.

I see I contacted a promising looking chemical etch place about this more than a year ago.
(well it has been a long term project). No sign I ever received a reply.

I could try the laser blasters but some say chem_etch is more cost effective on things <<1.5mm. Laser blasting for thicker stuff.

I have decided it is a worthwhile investment to get some tools to drill it and mill it so I have ordered the same.

It might go wrong in which case there is nothing lost except for my time - it would be sad to break the tools but as we all know tools are a good investment - you can always use them for something else.
