Default Threads announcing forthcoming events

If you wish to post about a forthcoming event that may be of interest to other members, please try to give 2-4 weeks notice if possible. This allows people to make plans and check their schedules etc.

We often get threads about events only a few days away, sometimes even on the day before. For most people that isn't enough time.

Also if we have reasonable notice we can add them to the forum calendar which means more people will see them.

Please give as much information as you can, such as location (with postcode for sat-nav), opening times, entry costs, parking arrangements, refreshments, whether you need to be a member etc. A link to the relevant page on the organiser's website would probably cover most of that for you.

It is great to hear about the various vintage radio related etc events around the country and we are keen to help promote them. Please help us to do so effectively.

Has the forum calendar (and hence the "What's going on?" section) withered and died due to lack of feeding? It hasn't had many entries for the past couple of years when absolutely nothing was going on, but now that events are being planned with some certainty that they will happen, will the calendar get updated? I for one found it very useful.

It it just needs someone to remember to add things, which we obviously haven't done recently. With a major lack of events the last two years we have got out of the habit!

We will try to remember. If you see an event posted in this section that isn't in the forum calender please click the red triangle "Report Post" and ask us to add it.

To be fair I'd totally forgot about the forum calendar.
Good reminder Paul.

Just a reminder: please give reasonable notice of forthcoming events if possible, so that people can plan. Posting the day before or just a few days before isn't likely to be much use to many members.

If there is reasonable notice (at least a week) the moderators will add it to the forum calendar so it is at the bottom of the homepage... if one of us sees it and remembers! Please click the Report Post icon and request this.

Thank you.
