Default Siemens radiogram

Hi:
Can anyone identify this radiogram. It seems to be a standard Siemens radio chassis with a turntable and pickup above. The back cover was missing, so no info there, but it is a Siemens as the logo on the front shows.
After a bit of TLC it works OK, though rather loud hum, so I intend to replace the smoothing caps and see if this helps. All the valves are OK. 1060s vintage I guess so no probs with 'waxies' and all resistors look OK.

I'd like to identify it so that perhaps I can source the service sheet.

Cheers, David

I certainly wouldn't assume the caps are OK before confirming that they are plastic film or ceramic.

Hi Mick,

I thought I was the only person to have one of these radiograms! I have the general info from the radiomuseum website but I am a bit wary of downloading the schematic from them since it uses a commercial downloader and I don't really want to get locked into one .
According to the museum it is basically the Siemens Meistersuper D7 with an added record deck. After a lot of mechanical cleaning, the turntable/pickup and the radio all work, but here is a bit of hum so I need to sort the HT rail first.
This is where a schematic would be really useful, so if you have one I'd be glad of a copy.

Hi Dave what do you mean how are you getting locked into a downloader?

Are you a Radiomuseum member?

Cheers

Hi Folks,

Thank you Frank for the link, I've downloaded the service sheet OK, so can now can make a start on the unit.
Re the downloading from the Museum. I'm not a member, this probably accounts for the downloading problem I had earlier. I have previously just looked at the museum website for valve base data so have not tried downloading from them. It may well be a good thing to be a member in future!

Thanks to all,

David

In my opinion the best site for valve data is this one:-

http://www.r-type.org/

For example:-

http://www.r-type.org/exhib/aaa0314.htm

There is no problem downloading from the radiomuseum site, it just sends a link to your email address, no nasties at all.
There is a limit imposed on the number of downloads for non members.

The Radiomuseum site allows guest visitors to download up to 3 pages a day, 10 a month, and in my experience is entirely safe - in this case the manual is 7 pages, but it looks like most of the circuit details are on the first 3 pages.

Just click on the page you want on the right-hand-side of the screen (so it's then showing on the main preview page on the left-hand-side), and then click on it again in the main preview part - that opens the download page you need to fill in for each page you want (repeat procedure for each page). The relevant pages will arrive in your email within a few hours.

Goldie99,

Alan,

Thanks for that info but when did they introduce that facilty ?

I've been a member for nearly 10 years and I've not been notified of that change.

Do guests have to pay for the downloads?

When I joined I had to pay a one off joining 'fee' of some £20 and, even then, they operated a Quid-Pro-Quo system, i.e: one had to upload info equal to the number of downloads made.

Me thinks I should '"ave a word" with them !

I have not been a member of Radiomuseum as Camtechman but I was aware of the downloads for non members.

I am fairly neutral on the subject but trying to create a total museum of Radio is hard work for everyone involved and I can quite see why it might be annoying to allow "freeloading".

Please don't forget the moderators who have to do a lot of work to try to ensure the accuracy of the exhibits.

The current system for members is much more generous than 1 to 1

If your motivated to do so I recomend membership help to fill in the holes!

Cheers

I'd also say RM was "worth it". I find that occasionally being able to upload a "new" set is strangely satisfying too. Maybe it's unique.........
