Hi Wendy,
My guess would be that it came out of a mobilephone base station installation, possibly the antenna diplexer filter to separate transmit from receive with single antenna working. The big connector (DIN7/16 type) would be the antenna connection, SMA the receiver and the N type the transmitter. Probably tuned around 800/900Mhz.

I'll second Peters opinion, the lengths of the bits look like 900MHz ish. Beautifully made too.

Oulu, Finland is also the location of a well known cellphone company.

The telecoms arm of ADC (now owned by TE Connectivity) was based in Minneapolis

I believe ADC supplied TMA and GMAs to OEMs and this probably the duplexer from one

I never saw this part though

This is a LOT more relevant!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ADC_Telecommunications

I am but a footnote [14] in that!

Ok thanks peeps.....It just looked interesting and HEAVY.. Nothing really of worth..except the M3 torx screws, I cannot see me salvaging the tubular capacitors.. or stand offs..
If anyone wants it...call and collect.

A machined lump of non ferrous metal of that size may have a useful scrap value if weighed in "clean" with any odd metal bits and pieces removed!

Copper about £3/kg, brass about £2-50/kg and aluminium about 50p/kg.

Chris... its actually machined brass.. with a silver coat... although I guess the silver would be microns thick. I will weigh it in.
