Sony 7600A FM/ MW/SW portable radio Repair - UK Vintage Radio Repair and Restoration Discussion Forum

I would be grateful for advice where I could get my Sony 7600A FM/ MW/SW portable radio repaired, or at least looked at. It accompanied through my work in Africa and Asia in the 1970s and 80s, and I don’t think I could find a replacement.

It is receiving a signal and works after a fashion. The sound is quiet to start with and gets louder with time after switching on. The sliding volume control is very temperamental and seems to interfere with the tuning in that moving it up or down cause causes loss of the station.

Sorry I don’t know the technical terms to explain the problem.
