Ferguson 34574 record player
Hi everyone, I have recently acquired a Ferguson 34574 record player, however I cannot get it to work. The switch with start, stop and auto written on it won't budge, I'm not familiar with this type of model and not sure if I need to do anything else before it starts.
Thanks in advance, Dave. |

Re: Ferguson 34574 record player
The problem with the record deck is almost certainly due to dried up grease, which means that the mechanism will need a strip-down, clean, and relurication. Please read the 'sticky' threads at the head of this section for further information, and, whatever you do, do not try to force any of the controls. This will only result in damage to the mechanism, not least of which may be brakage of plastic knobs. Presumably the Ferguson is fitted with one or other of the once common BSR or Garrard Autochangers, and has not been in use for a long time?

Re: Ferguson 34574 record player
Deck is apparently a model C123 by BSR of Birmingham.
The advice you have been given in post 2 is spot-on. N. |

I don't recognise this Model number, it's usually just 4 digits. Edward

Googling found me this, Edward: https://www.vintage-radio.net/forum/...7&d=1358696494
It's one of their "Unit Audio" range from, I presume, the early-mid 70s. |
