Tinned copper wire (and wire gauge conversion chart).
Help needed to source some suitable wire to extened the leads on capacitors/resistors.
Needs to be the same solid silvered type. Any help greatly appreciated. Graham. |

I got mine in Maplins. comes on a small reel
I am sure you could get it from RS or Maplins on line. |

It's not silvered, it's tinned. Look for "Tinned copper wire", widely available from RS, Rapid etc. Surely there are equivalent suppliers in your part of the world.

Presumably the same thickness as the leads you are trying to extend. Most TCW is now sold by diameter in millimetres. You may still find SWG in the UK and AWG in the USA so here's a conversion table.

Thanks Jeffrey thats a useful table. Arjoll thanks for the link but on closeup that looks like the braided stuff? Cant find any on Maplins website, but RS have a good range, so I am sorted. Thanks for your help guys. Graham.
