Question Unusual ITT item: what is it?

Yes, as per photo.

It is clearly a polarized item: 100s of k-ohms in one direction, a few k-ohms in the other. I suspect that it is a 12-v. Zener diode, but if so, what is its power rating? And what is the meaning of the 'U5-35R' ?

All replies will be appreciated; thanks.

According to a current Ebay listing I'm looking at it's a sounder/buzzer:

Red face Re: Unusual ITT item: what is it?

Lawrence: thank you.

It's a buzzer - of course it is - as I have just proved by connecting it to 12 v.d.c. I really don't know why I made the totally ridiculous suggestion that it might be a Zener diode! Now searching for replacement brain cells in my Raaco component storage racks!

Talking Re: Unusual ITT item: what is it?

Hi Lawrence,
Yes, I did find a drawer which I don't think I've ever noticed before, but when I looked inside it there was a small note that stated "Oh, do come on! You didn't really think that you'd find brain cells in here, did you?"
