AOR AR2700 Fuse?
I have a AOR AR2700 that as gone dead need help in identifying this part(i think It might be a fuse) It as some very hard to read small numbers on it. I think I have read 4.19. If this is a fuse does any one know what value is it?
Please see enclosed photo. Thanks for any information regards, Derrick. |

Re: AOR AR2700 Fuse?
I'd suggest it's a Murata CSA-C series ceramic resonator.

Re: AOR AR2700 Fuse?
In which case probably 4.192Mhz, commonly used in digital circuits for generating the clocks for tone encoding and decoding circuits and other timebases. We use a DTMF decoder IC which uses a 4.192Mhz crystal.
Certainly 4.19A would be an unrealistically high value fuse to find inside a handheld radio scanner. 1955APREN, does this item have a part number (ie, FS1 or X1), screenprinted on the PCB beside it? |

Re: AOR AR2700 Fuse?
Sorry, that should have said "certainly looks like a fuse!
We used very similar looking ones in the Kenwood PMR handhelds I serviced for the Home Office, rated 3A. As SH suggests, knowing what the silkscreen says in the position it came from in the radio could be decisive

Re: AOR AR2700 Fuse?
Thank you all for advice. The PCB does not have any markings on it at all. If it is a fuse then it's OC. I connected it to my component tester and it reads 44pf (a capacitor). It seems that it is a resonator. I will refit it ASAP and look for further faults. Sorry that I did not get back before, had busy week.
Thanks again, Derrick. |
