Ford premium sound 2000 model 2008 radio cassette
The LCD display has gone dim but then the set is probably 10 to 15 years old.
Is it likely to be the zebra strip between the PCB and the LCD or could it be a fault on the PCB ? The backlight bulbs are a twist fit into the PCB behind the LCD display. The front panel contains the buttons and the PCB switches and the LCD panel and LCD PCB. The front panel connects to the main board on the set with a wire ribbon cable and also a flat ribbon cable. Any ideas folks ? Or an idea of who still repairs these ? I can replace the zebra myself but it does not look like the backlight bulbs illuminate even though the bulb filaments are fine, so it could be the LCD PCB or a fault on the main board. |

A few photos of the back of the LCD PCB and the main and secondary boards.
No visible signs of component failure but the 103 resistors have no continuity and others do if I ring them out with a multimeter. Surely a resistor should have continuity? |
