Default Philips Disc Jockey Major record player.

I have two of these record players one of them is in working order. The sound quality of these is awesome, beats the tinny sound of MP3 players and newer portables. The other one has a very loud buzzing from the speaker, this could be down to a valve or capacitor. Could any one confirm this?

I agree, they do sound quite good for what they are. You're lucky to have good pickup heads, they do tend to suffer from moisture ingress. Does the problem stay with the player if you swap heads?. Other than that, the most likely fault is the smoothing capacitor.
