Default BC177Bs wanted

Looking for half a dozen BC177B, ideally Philips or some other reputable brand, if anyone has any lurking in the spares box and needing a good home in return for monies.

There seem to be an awful lot of fakes out there...

A BC557 is effectively the same transistor.

I know, but there's a visual element involved too. For authenticity it really needs to be a TO18 device.

Cricklewood Electronics seem to stock them.

The BC177B is a high gain version of the BC177 PNP transistor. HFE is greater than 180.

My databook suggests BCY71 and 2N3965 as equivalents.

Would BCY71 be any use? That's TO18.

I haven't got half a dozen, though....

Many thanks for the reminder -- I'd forgotten all about Cricklewood Electronics despite having used them many times in the past. They have STMicro BC177s in stock and the order's gone in.

BCY70 and BCY71 are both fairly close but the BC177 is notionally complementary to the BC107 and was in the original piece (it's a bit of ex-BBC kit) so I wanted to stick with it.

Thanks for the very kind thought Chris. Looks as though Cricklewood can fill the bill
