Default Farnell B30/10 - metering

I recently bought one of these beasties from Norman on the forum. I decided it would be nice to have V & I metering, the problem being that

a) there's precious little space on (and behind) the front panel and

b) I didn't fancy stripping everything off in order to modify the metalwork.
After much cogitation I hit upon putting the meters in a seperate case connected via an umbilical chord. This solution only required one circular hole in the panel for the 5-way socket.

Due to waning powers this simple project occupied much time & effort: how best to power the DVM module, whether to use analogue or digital metering for I, how best to protect the metering wires from possible shorts etc. etc.

Anyway if anyone else fancies doing something similar please drop me a PM.

John
PS the digital meter is one of those bargain 3-wire Chinese modules 0-33V with 5 digit resolution. the analogue meter is 0-200uA but could have been any meter with fsd less than 600mV.
