Default Old Appliance Spares Shops ???

Morning UK V&R members,

I am trying to see if there are any old appliance spares shops still open in the UK ? or closed and still have old stock.

I am trying to locate old spares for vintage washing machines from the 60's if possible.

If you know of anyone who either has a shop or had a shop and still has stock etc, please drop me a line.

Keith

This shop is still in business. I have used them many years ago and obtained spares. Might be worth giving them a call

I bought a run-back timer for a Dualit toaster from here less than a year ago.
The part was in stock and the job was completed the same day.

I have had great success with more recent parts with this company, https://www.espares.co.uk/?gclid=EAI...SAAEgKuo_D_BwE Not sure how far back they go, maybe worth asking.

John.

If you say exactly what you want, with pictures, it’s possible someone on here might have something tucked away. Most members on here are magpies.

Yes, it's nice to know about such shops. There used to be one in every town or market, but with the coming of online sales their overheads would have became too much compared to their meagre takings and have gone out of business. I suppose some are still viable if they own the premises, perhaps family run, sell other stuff too and do a 'tick over' amount business that they're happy with. Logan's was that shop in Rugeley where I live. Long gone. Occasionally you do come across them in old market towns where their are still family run shops on the high street.

I remember being taken into R&R electrical as a child by my Nan; that was over 50 years' ago. They are still going, and in the same location.

Thanks Martin,

They were exclusively at Hillsborough during Covid but according to their website the Wicker has re-opened. However I would certainly phone before visiting.

I prefer the Wicker shop because of the jukeboxes on sale there….or they were the last time I was there!

In times-past I have obtained things like vacuum-cleaner-hoses/brush-heads/HEPA-filters and freezer door-seals for obsolete 20-year-old appliances from Grace Electrical in Swindon.
