So the "known" colours are black brown red yellow green blue grey and, of course, white. That only leaves orange and purple to make the full standard colours as used for resistors etc. I wonder whether there is orange and purple as well?.
I would have thought orange was a strong possibility but then I didn't know about grey till yesterday so perhaps there are more colours out there.

A black one came up for auction a year or two back but someone wanted it more than me. I dropped out at 8.00+p/p. I don't remember what the winning bit was.

Brown is one that I read about somewhere but I have never seen one. I foresee another afternoon searching the internet again.
