Most stuff found inside a radio cabinet.
Up till now, my best find was a couple of insurance books and a brace of wage slips inside a radiogram, but this was eclipsed yesterday when I rescued a Philips 794A from a junk shop in Somerset. It looked a little grubby so I prised open the back just enough to see the rectifier valve, loose amongst a sea of shredded newspaper and cardboard. Mice? The two pin Philips power plug was missing but I couldn't resist for £15. Returning home, the back was removed to reveal a complete set of spare valves plus two extra 4 volt rectifiers! Next out of the mass of paper was a 1936 Cossor diary and a 1937 Cossor valve data book. Lastly, the original mains lead. No wonder it was so heavy!
