Default Choke supressor in Wolf Cub Drill

Hi all,

I found a nice old Wolf Cub Drill in the thrift shop.
I made a mistake while taking the drill apart, I thought someone else did a revision and thought it was a heat shrinking tube instead of a suppression choke.
I think this is exactly what Johnnie dit in this thread: HERE.

I tried reopeing the thread, but I am not able to do so.

I am wondering why G6Tanuki advised to buy this one.

buying only this component is quite expensive (shipping costs to NL, and minimum of 5. Moreover, I don't own a company which is needed to order).

This one is a 10uH 3Amp, but how do I know if this is the correct one (there are a lot of cheaper ones from 10uH but with varying Ohm, mHz and A).

Hope somebody has an alternative !

The precise value is not critical.

Can you let us know the approximate size of the part you're replacing (length/diameter).

I don't think you have to be a company to order from RS these days, at any rate you don't in the UK. Anyone's money will do!

The same part is available from RS Netherlands:

which might make the total costs more palatable.

Martin, I have a wolf cub, and it's a great drill. I have one or two, including a DeSoutter which I like. I always use them with an rcb, just in case. I find then surprisingly ergonomic in shape. They are my usual drills for small work needing a bit of torque, but I also have an older Bosch battery drill, that had a flat battery pack, and cost me nothing, which i use corded with a 12v battery.

I am quite sure it will fit.
But to be safe, will such inductor also do the job?

I can't find the other specifications such as the amperage, also not by looking up the part numbers...
