Default Aerial Farm (1920s)

This shot of a couple lying on the grass dates from the 1920s but the intriguing thing is what appears to be an aerial farm in the distance. I know that the guy built receivers but don't think he ever had a transmitting licence. Any comments on the aerials?

They may just be receiving aerials.

There was a lot of experimenting in those days.

I can make out some 4 sided loops and a 6 sided loop at the tops of some masts looking like old fashioned MW radio aerials. Great days for the radio experimenter then

No, he was a cabinet maker by trade. I guess he was visiting someone because he lived in a house without much in the way of garden. Thanks for the comments on the aerial types.
