Default Telsen Radios & Catalogue ?

Knowing my hobby of vintage equipment, a friend sent me this catalogue that he picked up at a local boot sale.

Firstly vintage mains/valve radios are not my scene and so I've never heard of this manufacturer nor their products.

I've scanned the front & rear pages and three other internal pages.

From what I can make out, not only did they supply complete radios but also parts for building/improving your own radio.

Also there are full articles on the manufacturer's radios and other technical articles on radio technology.

If anyone can provide more info, I'd be most grateful

I had no idea that Telsen had gone into receivership (no pun intended) as early as 1935. I have been familiar with The Telsen Centre building in Aston for around 30 years.

Hi I believe there were about 6 or 8 editions in all, most of which I have in various states, complete with proper blueprints and with a large centre section advertising the company's products, very useful to identify parts.
Also shown is the company HQ in Birmingham, a pretty impressive building and I believe, still standing today. If the illustrated building as shown is the true size it must have been a massive company.
The sets described in the literature were typical of the period and were often "re-titled" between volumes with minor tweaks to the circuitry. I believe these may have been sold as parts, complete kits or assembled sets.
Of more interest were the accessories, SW converters, amps, mains PSU's and battery eliminators, which were fully described and detailed.
These books are an invaluable source of information on the wide range of Telsen products so it is easy to identify them when they appear in commercial sets.

One of Telsen's radio adverts has been made into a decorative art poster:

I remember Telsen components in early radios when I was a Kid. There was also a firm called Graham Farish not far from where I lived, I thought they only made model railways but I came across radio components made by them too.

Geoff, the guy with the big collection which I'm trying to sort, has a couple of issues of this mag, in pretty good condition. Perhaps enough between everyone to complete the archive?

Hi Gents, in my collection I have:
Vol 1, No1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 in either photocopy or original form with most of the fold out blueprints.

Does anyone know of other volumes or numbers?

I'm sure I read somewhere (a reliable source) there were only ever six issues of Radiomag, in which case Ed you're the lucky holder of a complete set

I hope one day to acquire all six too. I have just two at present.
