Default Roberts Gemini49 DAB radio

Hi team this radio has a broken on/off switch. there is a small hollow tube inserted in the outer case where the "switch" fits. IT must be some kind of capacitor device as there seems to be no contacts in the tube. Do you know how this "switch" works and how to replace something to get the radio working again. Regards Brian.
