Default Replacement Rubber Platter for Dansette Popular 1962

Please help! I need to find a replacement platter for this player.

I have tried a UA8 and a UA14 rubber mat on this player which neither fit (too big).

The deck has no rubber on it anymore, all I have is 3 holes where it would affix. However I don't mind if I have to glue this.

Post a picture of the turntable fitted. It may help someone to advise what turntable mat (correct term) is needed. If a request is posted in the ;Sets, Parts, and service information wanted section, another member may have something suitable.

Also there are a number of readily available materials which can be used as mats if appearance and/or originality are not crucial.

A 7" or 8" pizza base will do pro-tem. Paint with emulsion to match. These are extremely hard to source, the 10" and 12" ones are much more common.

I imagine it's this one:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Dansette-...IAAOSwTUBeGzqa

It's an auction format so final price unknown at this stage.

if you have a poundland near you they do a packet of self adhesive round pads of
various diameters you could place these around the platter

... probably one of the best ways of supporting vinyl in terms of sound reproduction. Probably won't make much difference to a Dansette.

Just wanted to follow up in here and thank people. I managed to source a mat via eBay thanks for this forum.

Now all I have to do is get brave enough to look at this block of asbestos. I think we used to build everything from it.

There shouldn't be any asbestos in a Dansette. Where about is it?

That white block / asbestos been mentioned numerous times on here, to absorb the heat from the valves on the base board / hardboard, not sure if its ever been confirmed if its asbestos.
left alone it should be fine some said you could coat it by painting PVA glue over it, if it is asbestos it possibly cost more to have it "professionally" removed than what the record players worth.
Personaly if it looks ok not crumbling etc id leave it there

Had a few from these guys and are excellent EBay ref 113625327854
IKEA do circular place mats which can be cut to size and are dead cheap.
