Default Philips GF808. Output problem ???

Having problems with the Volume switch not connecting fully with both speakers unless I hold the switch in a particular position. Any Suggestions?

Hello and welcome,

These are very nice compact record players with belt-drive, suspended subchassis, magnetic cartridge, 2-way sealed speakers with butyl surrounds to the woofers, etc.

I would try some switch cleaner, such as Servisol's Super 10, sprayed sparingly into both sections of the volume control potentiometer. You will need to open up the unit to do this.

Nick.

Thanks, Nick, will try that but not sure how to get into the unit. Any idea?
