Default Bush perspex tuning knobs repair

Hi. Having read in the past about people requiring replacement perspex tuning knobs (whose fitting shafts have been broken) for the MB60, TR82, VTR103, (e.t.c) models. I have been after a replacement for the one on my MB60 - the fitting shaft had been broken on mine.
I have managed to obtain a suitable replacement shaft & spring from a knob from an old Ekco U122 set. I have applied grease/vaseline to the inside of it in preparation to gluing it to the Bush perspex knob, so that the glue does not get inside the shaft.
I have started to repair it by grinding out the remains of the stump of the fitting shaft with my Dremmel accessories. Next, I cleaned the centre of the perspex knob out, and filled it with epoxy resin. I then placed the new shaft in the centre of the knob, and let it cure.
It is no good just sticking a new shaft to where the old one was, as it will just pull off when the knob is pushed on to the brass shaft of the tuning gang. The centre hole of the inner centre needs filling up with epoxy resin to provide full support.
The finished product now looks (apart from the missing 7/8" dia brass cap), and works well.
Best regards
Mike
