Potentiometer nut size (for Roberts RT1). - UK Vintage Radio Repair and Restoration Discussion Forum

Can anybody tell me what tool is required to remove the RT1 tuning dial nuts?

I am guessing on a 17/32" spanner since it seems to be between 1/2" and 9/16" sizes. I have one very worn dial which I'm attempting to replace with one from a scrap RT1. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I've never seen a 17/32" spanner. They generally come in 1/16" increments. You could try 13 and 14mm spanners which both lay between 1/2" and 9/16"

Hi, The correct size spanner for the standard pot nut as fitted to the RT1 is 1/4 BSW or 5/16 BSF. 14 mm may be too big and 13 mm may be too small

. I must confess to normally using pliers..........

The 13mm spanner did the job just right. Never thought to go metric!
