Home Office? speaker identification please
We have a few of these speaker units that came with all the emergency services and military radio stuff.
Does anyone know who made them, what for, and what model? Many thanks. |

Fitted to a long U shaped bracket by a bolt at each end of the frame allowing the unit to tilt as required. The bracket with loudspeaker attached was then installed in the vehicle, usually under the dash.

Re: Home Office? speaker identification please
My memory may be playing tricks and it's been a long time since I fitted one, but I seem to remember the bracket design followed the shape of the back of the speaker, so had 4 bends, and the speaker was known as the 'E-type'. A standard vehicle speaker, used by the HO with most mobile radios, Pye and others, in police vehicles and fire appliances. Not the best speaker in the world for vehicle installations, I much preferred the smaller Pye speakers with the blue (or black) case and silver grille...
