Request for props and equipment loan from Film company
(Mods I think this is the right place for this -please move if not)
A new film is entering production and had requested help with 1960 vintage equipment as shown on the urls http://tinyurl.com/nzp8kgw and http://tinyurl.com/phz7el8 Which is basically recreating Portishead radio station! They also need seagoing items as follows Racal RA 6217 Communications Receiver Shannon Mk 3 Morse code transmitter and receiver Marconi Kestrel Radio telephone. If you can help please contact: (PM me for the email address) Thanks Nick

Re: Request for props and equipment loan from Film company
I wonder if thy really want RA6217?
Wouldn't Portishead have used the UK-built RA1217 rather than the North American built RA6217? I suppose it only comes down to black knobs versus grey knobs, but there are many more RA1217s here than RA6217. I have a 1217 in the attic but it hasn't been stirred into life for several years. David

Re: Request for props and equipment loan from Film company
David
From what I understand from Jack there is the land side Portishead as shown in the links, all CR100s, phones and teleprinters. Which has re-kindled my interest in my CR150 which needs a bit of work hence my other posts The sea side is basically as listed, it may have been an American equipped boat for all I know, either way it is best to be accurate if you can on these things (as I'm sure someone here will point out) Nick

Re: Request for props and equipment loan from Film company
I have just emailed the request to the Museum of Communication in Burntisland. I know they have lent out equipment in the past.

Re: Request for props and equipment loan from Film company
Good idea! The MoC has an awful lot of equipment. There are racks and racks like these:
I seem to remember there are several of the CR100 family and I think there's an RA1217 or two. David
