Hi Carlos, a very neat set up, any possibility you could publish the circuit for the PSU ?

Thanks, Ed

Ed,

it won't be difficult to publish a circuit to power a WS19, but as always finding the transformers can be a challenge. And that makes it difficult to put out a circuit that its possible to guarantee that others can follow.

People are doing what they have always done - find the transformers then design the circuit around what they have.

Hi Carlos,
Beautifully constructed PSU/amplifier. Not so keen on the red paint on the set though! I'm sure you'll enjoy using it.

yes the red is not my cup of tea as well, but i can live with it,
the real combination is with original power supply en everething else included,
he has repainted the whole trx and even the lettering, it works fine
so it is not a rusty cabinet anymore, thats what it is, you follow originalty in restoration or one does his own thing, i can live with that and happy with it
it is and was a great job , i could not do it!

I had a 22 set during my somewhat misspent youth, it included a rollercoaster ATU. As far as I remember it didn't have the auto netting of the 19 set. I did use it on transmit a bit until a GPO van parked outside the house, probably a 'phone technician in retrospect, stopped me using TX again until I got my licence!

This link may help with the 19 set? It covers others as well.

Carlos,

It is a means of adjusting the beat note (heterodyne tone) heard in CW but not affecting the netting of the transmitter. It's real function is to adjust the audio frequency to that of the twin-tee peak filter which is switched in in the CW position. It is a reactance circuit. The control is R14A.

keith
thanks info,
what is the purpose of the netting swith, i have manual , but still not clear,
so the het tone switch is for rx only to adjust the cw pitch in rx
the mode switch has 3 stands: mcw drive cw and rit,
so the het tone switch is active in the rit stand,
normally rit stands for radio incremental tuning, but thats not the case here obviously
in cw stand i get a loud tone
dan we have mcw
this is not all clear to me

Hi again Carlos,

The HET TONE control only operates in CW mode receive. It is switched out in transmit so that the transmitted frequency is not affected. If you are getting a continuous tone in CW receive (even with no signal), this means that the twin-tee peak filter is oscillating. This may be due to component value drift and/or incorrect loading of the RX output (possibly wrong impedance headphones). This is quite a common problem. ISTR that there was a modification to provide an additional damping resistor somewhere in the harness to fix this in service.

The NET switch allows netting (zero beat) of the TX frequency exactly to the received signal in R/T mode - this does not involve the HET TONE control. You will probably have to reduce the RF gain control to hear the beat on a strong signal.

Hope this helps.

hi keith,
yes it does, all clear now,
the power supply here delivers all voltages needed for rx and tx,
its has even an audiostage build in with speaker volume bass and treble,
so the audio output from set 19 is also delivered to the audiostage of the power suply and is working,
the volume pot works also on the 19 set,
no phones are connected at present time,
so this can be the reason, i suspect that headphones should be connected to the 12 pins pye output connector since i see no other6.3 audio ouput connector on the set,
will search for the output pins and connect a headphone to it(if i cand find them on a schematic.

hi keith,
it is oscillating , when i put a 4000 ohm headphone on the audio pin of the 12pins output connector the tone is gone and can hear the hf audio coming in,
not that good of course, the tee peak filter and maybe the valve components needs attention, the speaker in the audio stage is 4 ohm, i dont now howmuch this extra audio stage things can messed up, work to do
