Default Admiral pattern 5526A test meter

Picked this up yesterday sadly at some time the meter body has cracked and been glued backtogether –sadly in situate and offset so I can no longer remove it from thecasing
And the pointer can not be set to zero as its not engagedwith the adjuster
Meter seems to work
Has anyone any data on the meter movement and who made it
Was thinking may find some thing around the rallies

It not shall just display it
Not the end of the world as it was only a couple of quid

Usually easy to carefully open the case and engage pin with pointer zero screw.
Note that there is also a lower zero fork that can also be adjusted id top one is out of range.

I have a similar (loose) surface mount meter graded 0-8 volts and 0-80 volts with external resistance. I haven't looked at it lately but i believe it is pattern number 7298. It's ww2 era. Your meter gives me an idea of what it might have been installed in.

the problem is I can not get the meter part out of the main case to get to the screws to strip the meter part
it having snapped around the meter part it self, and being glued back OUT OF LINE.
I need to try and snap it open along the glue repair line but its held tight ,and I feel it will cause more damage if I try to force it

while hunting in the garage for something else
found a long forgotten box of odd in it were 2 3" meters that looked to have the same casing
marked model 23K ELECTROSTAIC ser. 2966259 and 2966258 the have the war office arrow on them and dated 1972
so I striped one it was spot on snapped the unit one down its old glue line ,and made a good one from the 2 parts

so have a spare case (no glass) if any one can use it
