Trying to stay vaguely on topic and keeping everybody happy while being useful at the same time , why dont you just get your bottle based table lamp with a low wattage traditional light bulb and wire it in series with the gondola , then everybody will be happy !

Hi,
My aunt & uncle, as well as my grandparents each had one and, as far as I know, have never been anywhere Venice. Maybe they came from Woolworth's? Alas, I can't remember what sort of plug they had, which might have been a clue. And, yes, they sat on top of the telly!
Cheers, Pete.

As ciao is frowned on in Italy, or so Google informs me, Arrivederci will have to suffice.
