Default Decca Legato De luxe cassette.

hi guys just got hold of one of these cassette players all works lovely but is very quiet with volume at max . any ideas please

think I've solved the problem. someone has put the cassette player back after taking the back off and they have crushed the speaker wire

Crushing a wire is very unlikely to drop the volume!

-Have you cleaned the heads? if so, clean them again. And again. ;-)
-Use a prerecorded tape from a major record label and check the head alignment.
-Clean the rec-playback internal slide switch with Servisol.

Post back once you've done these basics if you still have problems.
