Default Akai VS-5 No colour

Anyone know what causes no colour on VS-5?

The VCR Displays Monochrome video with Whizzing 'Colour Stripes'..

Hi
First of all try other output such as RF
If the problem still exist, check the followings
1. If the unit have B/W-COLOUR switch check the position of the switch and if the switch works.
2. If the unit have TV system switch (PAL MESECAM NTSC) check also the switch
3. If you are familiar with electronics check the PSU output.

Could be a number of things. Power supply caps having high ESR, bad caps in the chroma process circuit, or simply a misadjusted chroma circuit. Does the colour improve if you let the machine warm up?
