Default Murphy U512 tuning knob

Hi, just a quick question, is the tuning knob on a Murphy U512 a push fit? I can't see a grub screw to make me think otherwise.

P.S. Sorry for posting in the wrong catagory!

No.

The knobs are held on by an ingenious spring clip arrangement. You need to get a small screwdriver behind each knob and locate the flat on the leaf spring which projects slightly from behind. Push on the flat with a screwdriver towards the front of the set and the knobs will come off.

It's an excellent arrangement as there is no possibility of exposing live parts and the knobs don't get stuck - but you do have to know what you are doing.

These are good sets with a few wrinkles - I've restored a couple.

Leon.

Ok thanks, I can see that now, as I peer through the side.
