Default Ekco radio. Model unkown.

Just seen in Allsort Shop, High St, Mkt Drayton an Ekco FM only valve radio AC E series valves. No back hence no model number. Has two speakers, one round, one elliptical. Diaal only goes up to 100 Mc/s. Has been reduced from £60 to £25. Wooden cabinet needs some work, but not too bad.

I do not have any connection with the shop, only passing details as I have seen.

Regards, Derrick,

Sounds like an A274 or A277. Good sets, easy to work on, though £25 without a back is pushing it a bit.

These types of old valve radios rarely fetch much as few people want them.

Earlier this year i bought this Ekco U143 after hunting for one for years. At £40 i paid a bit over the odds but it's complete with no parts missing, never been "messed about" with, in very good original condition... and even came with the original purchase receipt!

I paid £15 for my A277 in complete but tired condition.

I have an A277 lovely radio not to awkward to work thanks to postings in the 'Search this website' at the top of the page on and the Russian magic eye drops in without fuss and of course is electronically the same as the A274.It was originally sold by Harrods according to the label on the back!
