Default Amstrad CPC464 Repairs

Does anyone know if there is anyone in the West Yorkshire area that can fix an Amstrad CPC464 tape deck?-It rewinds and fast forwards but does nothing when the play button is pressed. I have no idea about electronics but would appreciate it if anyone has any suggestions.

Hayley
Welcome! That sounds like a mechanical, not an electronic, fault.
A quick Google on CPC464 came up with a lot of information - repairs and sales.
This one has a complete 464 for sale for less than any repair would cost . Obviously I have no connection with the seller.

if you feel brave enough to open it, we can talk you through it with pictures . chances are the drive belt is worn out, or the pinch roller return spring is off, nothing more!
