Two old tellys - valuation wanted
Hiya all
I have a Sobell SC270 and a pilot TV76/CV76, both would require restoration. They are complete as far as I can tell and they are not in bad condition, they were given to me many years ago by my Grandma. She tells me they never stopped working they just upgraded to new telly's and put the old ones under the stairs, and they stayed there until she gave them to me. So could any one be able to give me a ball park figure as to how much they may be worth? thanks in advance Baz |

Re: Two old tellys - valuation wanted
Rough guess £20---50 each, difficult without pictures. Welcome to the forum.

Re: Two old tellys - valuation wanted
I would agree with that valuation, maybe a bit higher if they are in really good condition.
Whatever you do, do not attempt to power them up. You could cause serious damage to them or yourself! Mark |

Re: Two old tellys - valuation wanted
Looking on Jon's site, the Pilot is a rather lovely early '50s model which could well be sought after, maybe £50 to £100.

Thanks for the welcome fellas and also the advice about firing them up, the amount of dust in the back would be like lighting a tinder box.
newlite-would you have a link to "Jon's site" please or point me in the right direction, more interested in the pilot as it was my grans favourite cheers baz |

Jon's site is a great source of info, the page on Pilot can be found here: http://www.thevalvepage.com/tvmanu/pilot/pilot.htm

Re: Two old tellys - valuation wanted
Looking at the picture of the TV76 IF it is in good condition cabinet wise and the chassis is not rusty I would certainly go £50 plus in my valuation.
PS Very nice model but I have enough!

Re: Two old tellys - valuation wanted
Guys, thanks for info and help.
Hamishboxer, I only have those two telly's and my wife "thinks" they're in the way. I guess you lads on here have more than just a few stashed away!! Thanks again, have a good weekend. Bazza |
