Unidentified Smiths electric clock - UK Vintage Radio Repair and Restoration Discussion Forum

In the ongoing workshop clearout, I found this electric clock. I seem to remember is hanging on the dining room wall at my grandparent's house 10+ years ago, with an ugly and somewhat suspicious mains cable hanging down the wall below it. They were "thrifty".

Any idea what model it is? It doesn't look particularly ancient. It still worked when I plugged it into a test block.

Think it uses the "QGEM" movement, which is a bit notorious for self-destructing due to the extensive use of plastic wheels etc.

Ah yes, and the "Smiths Industries Limited" would then date it between '66 and '77. Thanks for the link.

Looking at Barrie Smith's book, this might be the New Delhi model, introduced 1962.
