Re: I wish I could read Russian
Facinating site! Google Translate works reasonably well although there is some interesting grammar and some of it takes a little unravelling.
Just having a quick look around the site and there is a kit radio for children and an interesting comms receiver that was kept in production for many years. Strange how most Russian radio's looked 20 years out-of-date to Western eyes even for the period. I bet it lasted though. I wouldn't mind betting that there are far more vintage radio's still being used as everyday sets in Russia. SB

Great site, Something for everyone there. Looking through the test equipment section
I found that the Russians even had a multimeter called, the "AV0-5M1" from 1957. Imitation the best form of flattery!

Re: I wish I could read Russian
That does look a good site .Its interesting that they did copy stuff .I have a Russian portable acoustic gramophone which is an almost direct copy of an HMV 102 right down to motor.

Re: I wish I could read Russian
Hi All,
What makes you think that the HMV102 is a copy? The Melodoya company was part of the Gramophone Company family for many years. Best wishes DAVID (PS: Don't forget to change the needle!) |

Re: I wish I could read Russian
Its not HMv its Russian ....Its almost like a 102 .But not quite .The soundbox for instance is a bit ungainly , the cabinet isnt quite right etc , but its so close to a 102 that its obviously a copy .
