Default Bush TV12 Which paint for chassis?

I'm finally getting somewhere with the TV12 (I think). It's now in a lot of parts after much stripping down as I want to repaint the chassis. The aluminium has suffered badly as it looks to have been stored in very damp conditions. It's quite scarred and really isn't nice to look at so I have stripped down a lot of the top deck to repaint it as I want the set to really look the part too.

I'm just wondering what paint would be best to use? Ideally I would prefer to brush it as it is easier for me to do on the bench but there aren't really many brush paints that will give a smooth enough finish. Hammerite is very thick and takes forever to dry so I don't think that is best, plus it is hard to get a flat finish with it when brushing, unless it is possible to thin it down which may help.

Has anyone had any good results from a particular paint?

Wheel refinishing silver, but spray only.
