KB ER30 Knobs/Shaft Couplers
Until I can source the original knobs, does anybody have any ideas as to what I can use as shaft couplers, so that I can put the chassis back in the cabinet and still operate the radio controls?
Thank you. P.S. I have received some very useful information regarding making up knobs etc but until I set myself up again I need a short term "fix". |

Re: KB ER30 Knobs/Shaft Couplers
6mm or 1/4 inch bore plastic pipe as used in fish tanks etc.?
Warmed and slid on the shafts. Tywrap if you need more purchase and put a nail through the exposed end to operate the switches. Alternatively try aluminium tube with the correct inside diameter and 'split' the coupling end with a hacksaw and then tywrap to give a grip. You could still buy shaft couplings, there was something on here a while ago. Edit: Ebay and Hifi Collective have 1/4 inch shaft couplers available.

Great thank you very much; that should keep me going until I source the correct knobs.

Is that old radio working OK now. Wicks used to do brass and aluminium tube. I have also see it in B&Q.

Hi Mike, yes all up and running thank you, just a bit of a hum but could be the 25uf electrolytic of which I am about to replace; all remaining paper/wax caps have now been replaced.
The HR10 working well, only needed to replace the dial cord which I broke. Brian |
