Open University Generator & Oscilloscope?
Hi!
Has anybody seen one of these featured in Open University programmes before? I haven’t got round to unpacking and investigating it yet – it was bought "as is" with a fault on it, but physically it bears some resemblance to the "PE Investigator" published as a Construction Project May/June 1967! Circuits will eventually be drawn out when my spare time permits, but I've no info on it's specifications as of yet! Alas to say I missed out on two others sold three years ago that were in much nicer condition! Chris Williams

Yep, had one when I did T202; a great many years ago.

Re: Open University Generator & Oscilloscope?
The generatorscope has been mentioned on here a couple of times, once looking for the cct diagram and another thread about vector diagrams. I was looking for one of these myself last year as I had a complete set of the T202 coursework and fancied having a go at it however the lack of hardware pursauded me to sell it on. The original course videos are available on YouTube

Re: Open University Generator & Oscilloscope?
Hi!
The oscilloscope has a single–sided epoxy glass PCB covering all the right hand side with two valves on it, I've not yest investigated mine to find out what they are yet! A simple mono–accelerator CRT is used and a very basic single channel vertical amplifier and timebase is provided. Unlike the B.N.R.E.S. "Learnakit" home assembly scope, this unit has four or five calibrated settings for both vertical gain and timebase speed. I am working out how I can incorporate in my T & M book – I have finalised the book at 16 Parts, 190 Chapters, but I can easily incorporate this instrument as sub–sections of the appropriate main chapters if need be! By the way, the one I got is distinctly moth–eaten, if any Member has a tidy one they're willing to part with for (hopefully!) a smarter case and matching knobs, please PM me! Chris Williams
