Default Gear4music ME502 mixer

Any one in the north shropshire. north staffs area willing to take on this repair
unit belongs to a friend of mine . is dead at first no voltage out of the power supply. No screws in power supply so case had to be broken, inside was just a
240v/ 20/0/20 transformer with the thermal fuse oc. I was able to short out the thermal just to test off load I had 20v on each side of the winding But when connected to the the mixer the transformer got very hot quickly.Removed bottom
of mixer But it is all sma one of the ic looks burnt . Not able to go any further with repair, not got equipment to remove these small components. Pleased to hear if any one can help.

What a coincidence. I've just started a repair on an Alesis mixer, also with burnt SMD components causing a PSU short. Sadly, I'm too far away to help, being in South Gloucestershire, but good luck finding someone.

Hi Derrick,
I have an audio repair business based in Sheffield, but it's probably not economic to repair. They only cost 30 new, and it's likely to cost at least that plus parts to repair.
