Very interesting, although when I read your title, I expected it to cover only 1971!

Annoying "Wait 30 seconds" popup though.

Nick.

Didn't get any pop-ups Nick, block all that type of stuff.

Very comprehensive with flyers for all the major models, must have taken some time to compile.

An interesting collection of vintage information, but be aware that Nat Pan did not arrive in this country until 1973 at 109 Whitby Road Industrial Estate, Slough, Berkshire. Taxi drivers christened it Nat Pan!

Prior to this time some items were imported by Unimec at Southend on Sea, mainly expensive short wave transistor radios.

The big feature of 1973 was the CD-4 quadraphonic system for which they equipped their range of direct drive turntables with semi conductor cartridges.

This was to avoid the loss of the 30Khz carrier used on these analogue records.

Many items to be found in this country now and pre-dating 1973 are likely to have arrived via the Armed Forces, the NAAFI and the American Post Exchange or PX for short.

If any of my original purchases are anything to go by, not only are they well made and reliable, they are still working after almost 40 years. All seven of them! Plus any number of those strange cartridges for which I bought up all of Tottenham Court Roads final stock some years later, in order to keep them alive into the present time. (I must have been crazy.)

Best wishes.

DAVID

Thanks for all the extra info David, very interesting.
I used to have Technics equipment many years ago and found it to be very well built and reliable.
