https:// URLs
After enabling https:// a few months ago, this forum is now fully on https:// (SSL) URLs. If you use a http://www.vintage-radio.net/forum/ link it will automatically redirect to the https:// version.
Google and other search engines now prefer https:// URLs and recent versions of the main browsers now show warnings for htttp:// pages with forms. Hopefully this change will have no adverse effects but if you do notice any issues please post here. |

Re: https:// URLs
I have noticed in the past that some links that have been posted don't work but if you removed the https:// from the link it then worked. Presumably that will no longer be a problem?

Re: https:// URLs
Hopefully not, but if you find any examples of links that don't work please post here, together with a link to the thread or whatever containing the offending link.

Re: https:// URLs
Ah, I wonder if that was partly the reason why I was exsperiencing problems just before Christmas? I was unable to get onto the forum via the www.vintage-radio.net through my usual internet service on my mobile, it wouldn't re-direct me.
A mate of mine, could get it through his EE mobile, so I wondered at the time if it was just effecting certain mobile networks and not others. Having said that, and as I was explaining to Bill (AC/HL) (moderator) the other day, it was hard to tell in my case, because my handsets are a bit dated, and i rarely do many updates when prompted. Anyway, since going through Chrome, swopping devices, and changing a few things I've managed to restore operation again (all without much help which is a first for me) and I think I've also now managed to somehow get it back again, on my original device (mobile) but it's too late now to go back to that device, i'll just stick to this one now.
