Still trying to get the Supply spool brake to work properly, have fitted another Supply spool carrier and played around with the clutch settings but the brake is just not holding the stationary spool carrier. From visual and measurements cannot see what is not right.

The brake mechanism is very simple and have never known it to have a problem before. It was fine prior to refitting the Supply spool carrier after gluing on the drive belt.

Still struggling with the simple brake mechanism. The position of the brake bracket is adjustable on a slotted hole, adjusted but made no difference at all. Swapped over the brake assembly (brake bracket + spring + brake pad|) between the bad machine and a good machine, the fault remained on the bad machine.

The extremely useful Grundig reference information website, referenced in Posts 1 & 2 of the linked Thread in Post 1 of this Thread, now is live again (it went dead months ago) but unfortunately now is nothing to do with Grundig, it covers various things including some tape recorder information.
