British Ericsson 300 Ivory Telephone
Hi all,
I just bought a British Ericsson (300 series design) in Ivory. it arrives within the next few days. I just wondered if anyone had any information on this particular model? It seemed reasonably price at £110 for an Ivory model, but can’t find that much online about the Ivory Ericsson models. It seems to be different from GPO stock though having a colour coded dial and some kind of metal bracket in the recess of the receiver along with an embossed IEL logo. I am probably going to install the chrome dial off my black 332L as I prefer the look of the chrome dials rather than the colour coded ones Here’s a picture attached |

Re: British Ericsson 300 Ivory Telephone
Hi Ryan,
Any N.... numbers underneath? See here: http://www.britishtelephones.com/ericsson/menut3.htm Yours might well be a CB model converted to auto by fitting a dial later. Nick |

Re: British Ericsson 300 Ivory Telephone
Hi Nick the under plate has this number on it. Seems like some kind of Ericsson model number? I hope I didn’t overpay for it (£110) I did make sure it wasn’t one of the poor quality Indian Telecom ones though before I bought.

Re: British Ericsson 300 Ivory Telephone
The base may have been changed? The '1 of 2' is a bit odd on the base?
Check what the chassis has on it when it arrives. The dial certainly has as it is a Dial 21 from a 700 type era telephone. However Ericssons did supply Ivory 332 style telephones with an ivory Bakelite fingerwheel - I bought an ivory Ericssons 300 style phone with one of these ivory fingerwheels on fleabay for £55 a couple of years ago. Bought from someone in Hull and it had a 'Hull' dial label in it; The cords (handset & line) were tubular gold ones - only ones I've ever seen of that style. Obviously original by the wear in them. There is an ivory Ericssons dial up for auction at the moment - see https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/British-E...gAAOSwqBJXXUab Same seller also has a green Ericssons dial for sale. Ian |

And Bob's website gives that as "N1002H.. Black Bakelite without sliding tray, with non-director dial (H6 variant is diagram N72136) " Looks as thought it is an Ericssons N1002H6 that is on its way to you. The diagram on the inside of the base should confirm it. The metal bit on the top covers a vent used on models destined for export but often found on models sold in the UK. |

Hi Ian thanks. The 1 of 2 is the eBay image. It’s not actually on base of the phone. I just took a screenshot on my iPhone as eBay doesn’t let me actually save the pictures.

Hopefully at £110 I didn’t overpay for this lol. Always wanted an Ivory model. What is the metal bracket for btw in the reciver recess? My black 332L doesn’t have this

Re: British Ericsson 300 Ivory Telephone
See above for the metal bit. £110 is not a bad price as it doesn't look too bad. All you need now is a nice metal Dial No 10 or 12 (not a metal No 2X series with a plastic back).
If you double click on the picture so you get the 'slideshow', then choose the picture you want and right click on it, it gives you the option to save (only if all the smaller pictures are not across the bottom of the screen). |

Re: British Ericsson 300 Ivory Telephone
It arrived today in fantastic condition.
I just added a dial number 12 from my Bakelite 300 series in black and it’s really finished it off nicely. |
