Strange that the WINDOWS KEY+ semicolon trick isn't better known (I, at least, had never come across it). But I've often puzzled about getting esoteric symbols into emails - usually resorting to composing them in Word.

Can someone explain to me how to use special characters here? For example, umlauts and Greek letters. TIA

Windows key (plus) :; key
Then click on the Omega sign, you can also access other symbols by clicking on the relevant symbol on the bottom row.
