Default Details of an old RS Toggle Switch

Could some kind soul with access to an old RS catalogue look up part number 316-709 and tell me if this miniature SPDT toggle switch is rated for 240V? I can't find it in my 1994 catalogue and suspect it dates from the '80s or maybe even the '70s. Pity they didn't put anything useful on the switch body rather than just the RS logo.

Many thanks.

Old RS parts can be looked up and sometimes the brief description can be very helpful.
Just change the part number in the box to the one you want and hit search and look at the PDF files.

Nope, that doesn't come up with anything resembling a switch unfortunately. However, the fact that datasheetarchive can find at least some RS codes is well worth knowing (and I didn't).

My 'archive' catalogue is pre 6 digit Nos, (1969) . However if it is the grey round bodied (body dims L 0.94" Dia 0.36") switch with black plastic toggle then spec is 250 vac 1.5A or 30 VDC 3 A.

It's in the December 1976 catalogue. It's rated at 250V ac at 2A or 30V dc at 5A, and it's described as "SPDT, slow make-and-break action with silver contacts".

Thank you all for bothering to look up this switch (rectangular brown body BTW). I have a number of these and they will do fine for mains switching at lowish current - which is what I hoped. They are older than I thought, but never used.

Cheers

Mike
