Re: Auction St Neotts Military radio collection
I think you are both talking about the same auction!
Its not clear whether its just the usual MOD clearout (who would collect hundreds of Clansman loudspeakers??) - or someone's personal collection. I doubt whether the MOD are still turning out Wavemeter Class D No.2 or R209s from their store cupboards! Richard |

Re: Auction St Neotts Military radio collection
And a word of warning. I've just tried to register to bid. I can't. At least not without turning up in person to one of their offices to hand over my driving licence etc.
Since I am almost in Wales, and their centres are at St Neots, Bedford and Leomington Spa......this is one auction I won't be taking any further. Richard |

There is a clue in the headline of the on-line ad!

If you scroll through you get to some interesting stuff - Tektronix oscilloscopes, big old Marconi signal generators, Gould J3B audio signal generators (have one - really useful). All on pages 7-9.

Re: Auction St Neots Military radio collection
well i went ,chatting to the auctioneer this pile is only about 25% of what the collector has so I guess there may be more auctions as he want to move houses and this lot has to go. most of it has come from sheds or stored on pallets with a sheet over the top. and after many years is shows. as a lot of the stuff was looking a little poor and needing work. But on a plus point most of the prices were good and I came a way with a few bits so was glad I went

Re: Auction St Neotts Military radio collection
The usual audio signal generator facilities. But it has a transformer coupled, galvanically isolated balanced output too, centre tapped at 300-0-300 ohms with switches for -20dB and -40dB (and -60dB with both buttons pushed). All coupled with the variable output control. I replaced the single turn control on mine with a 10-turn for really fine control of the output. All that is referenced to 30V rms (ie 15-0-15) into open circuit or 15V rms i(7.5-0-7.5) into 600 ohms.
In practice, in combination with the rotary control, you can get -80dB so the output can be set to 3mV into an open circuit, 1.5mV into a 600 ohm load or 0.75mV if you use half the output. Really useful features if you do any kind of audio work. Here you go http://www.kevinchant.com/uploads/7/...operating..pdf Craig Last edited by Craig Sawyers; 4th Aug 2017 at 8:11 am. |
